Cable management includes two sections:
- Cable support having the main purpose of supporting the cables as they
are being routed through the building from one point to another (often
called containment),
- Cable dressing is to make subsequent management of the cables through
the lifetime of the installation easier, as it maintains neatness, small
size and reduce interference.
Cable management is
important in many fields, ICT sector, power distribution, facility
wiring being just some of them aim being to avoid cable spaghetti,
(where cables can easily become tangled, making them difficult to work
with, sometimes resulting in devices accidentally becoming unplugged as
one attempts to move a cable).
